ORMS and Health Care Management

Description

The health care system is facing unprecedented challenges and particularly a serious economic pressure. Promising alternatives of the traditional Health Care System are developed to improve the quality of service and reduce cost, namely the collaborative healthcare logistic network and the Home healthcare and home support systems. This Steering Group deals with healthcare systems design and management. Researchers in operations research and management science (OR/MS) community are involved to provide efficient Health Care Decisional Support Systems to help health care managers to make best decisions both in the context of normal activity and when perturbations occur i.e. in a dynamic and uncertain environment. How to make changes in order to improve the whole healthcare system performance becomes the main issue of researchers from organizational and decisional points of view. Several modelling, optimization, and simulation techniques are provided for decision making in Healthcare management domain.

The goal of this Steering Group is to discuss new advances of OR/MS in health care domain. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Information and decision support systems
  • Supply chain and care network
  • Resources design and management,
  • Planning and scheduling problems,
  • Transportation problems
  • Uncertainty and risk management,
  • Analysis, forecasting, monitoring, evaluation, etc.
